Supermicro 2U Twin2 6026TT-HIBQRF

10 Overall Score

The Bios

BIOS pages in server are usually BASIC, and usually featureless. Let’s see what the Supermicro BIOS has to offer.

Supermicro uses American Megatrends BIOS. I tend to like these BIOS’s over some of the others.

Main BIOS screen.

Advanced Settings. (Boot Features, Processor & Clock Options, Advanced Chipset Control, IDE/SATA Configuration, PCI/PnP Configuration, SuperIO Configuation, Remote Access Configuration, Hardware Health Configuration, ACPI Configuration, IPMI Configuration, Event Log Configuration)

Boot Feature Menu. Pretty standard.

Processor and Clock Options. You can adjust your clock settings here, also enable some of the more advanced CPU settings from C1E to Turbo Boost.

Advanced Chipset Settings. One thing I want to note here, it appears you have to manually force 1333MHz if your memory is 1333MHz. we will explain the significance of this later.

IDE Configuration, you can select whether you want RAID or AHCI, RAID node allows for Intel Controller or Adaptec (We’re not sure if this is a clone)

Advanced PCI/PnP Settings, pretty standard as far as these settings go. Clearn NVRAM, PnP O/S, etc, etc.

Serial Ports. This particular board comes with one serial port on the rear of the board.

Remote Access Type and Parameters. You can configure remote access. We believe this is only workable for Linux based consoles. We don’t believe this will do BIOS level redirection.

Hardware Health Event Monitoring. This gives you the information for all of your voltages and fan speeds, however it doesn’t display CPU Tempatures.

Advanced ACPI Configuration which is somewhat basic.

IPMI Configuration. This is were you set the LAN settings for your IPMI/KVM over IP that is built into these servers.

Event Logging.
