MakerFarm Prusa i3 8″ Build

10 Overall Score
Ease of build: 10/10
Ease of Use: 10/10
Ease of Maintenace: 10/10

Very easy to build and setup

Little time consuming to learn

The hardest part of this was getting everything cleaned from the printing state, and getting nuts into the hole correctly so the bolts could fit in there correctly.

Thanks for the detailed review of this kit. I’m about to order the exactly same kit myself. Now that you’ve had the printer for a while can you comment on how things have been going since this post?

What has your overall success with printing been like?

wow xtreme cpu 13 pages for one article ??? I wont even try. Desperation for ad revenue has backfired.

Funny thing is we don’t make a penny on revenue from the people we do reviews for. So no desperation for ad revenue at all.

I know this is an old review but two points. First, Josh… Really? You’re complaining about a THOROUGH review? I search all over the place for reviews of this calibur and most of the time I find such shallow reviews I’d be better off going “eenie meenie miney mo” to pick an item i’m researching.

As for MakerFarm, It’s been over a year and I’m curious how much tweaking you were able to do in regards to print quality? I’ve been looking into 3d printing for quite awhile now and still haven’t come to a decision as to which version/make/etc with which to take the plunge. Was the build size the only reason why you chose makerfarm over say makerbot or other variants?

Things are going well with it. We upgraded a few parts to make it print faster, but over all the unit is still working, and working well. It did take some tinkering with but people were there to help out during the process. Over all still a good printer.

We did not paint it at all. I suppose you could, but we did not during the review.
