DFI’s P55 Showing at Computex

Overall Score

New to DFI’s UT lineup is the P55-T3eH10 motherboard due out in late August, early September timeframe.  The new UT board uses an all digital Volterra 10 phase power management system to offer the best and cleanest CPU power.  An interesting inclusion with the new P55 motherboards from DFI is the ability to flash the BIOS via a special USB connector on the I/O panel.  The really unique thing about this option is that the P55 boards do not require power to have the bios flashed.  This tool is excellent for those of us that might accidentally corrupt the BIOS during a reflash.  In that instance, you would need to send to board back to the manufacturer to have the problem fixed.  We look forward to trying this out once the new motherboards are availble for testing.

The DK P55-T3eH8 motherboard has all the same features of the its UT brother with a few changes.  The DK board uses an 8 phase digital pwm, but not the more expensive Volterra chips.  The onboard cooling solution is also a step down from the more expensive UT series.  The T3eH8 will also include the BIOS flashing option available on the T3eH10.

DFI’s popular X58-T3eH8 motherboard received a Best Choice Award at Computex.
