Testing

With the S1 installed and mounted in the case, I’ll move on to testing. Here’s the setup.

Test System
CPUIntel Xeon X3060 & Intel Xeon X3220
MotherboardGigabyte GA-P35-DQ6
RAMBuffalo FireStix DDR2-800 2x1GB
GFXFoxconn 8800GTX
PSUPC P&C Silencer 610W

The ambient temperature was kept to a constant 70°F (21.1°C). Idle temps were recorded after the PC had been sitting for one hour under zero load. Load temps were recorded after two hours of torture testing with Orthos Prime.

I tested the S1 not only against a common All-in-one water cooler (Thermaltake Big Water), but also against its cousin, the Sphere and for baseline, the Intel reference cooler.
