Cooler Master CM Storm Recon Gaming Mouse

8.6 Overall Score
Hand Grip: 9/10
Precision: 9/10
Customization: 8/10

Rubberized surface makes for good grip | Software allows many customizations | Precision accuracy in game is excellent | Ambidextrous

Could be considered too light | Hardware Customization is lacking

The Recon, as mentioned earlier, is an ambidextrous mouse. The rubberized coating gives the Recon a comfortable, nonslip grip even under highly sweaty palms. Let’s face it, gaming can get intense and your hand slipping during crucial combat situations just doesn’t fly. That could mean the difference between a kill or death or the match, depending on what game you are playing.

The USB cable is not braided. Instead, it uses a standard plastic wire coating with a gold plated USB connector. But what the unbraided cord lacks in style, the mouse makes up for in other areas. More on that in a bit. For now, as we continue our visual tour of the Recon, we can see that it is a rather standard looking mouse. Yes, it does come with LED lighting in the mouse wheel and the CM Storm logo, which changes color depending on what profile is selected. But, apart from that, you will be hard pressed to say that this is a unique looking mouse.

Visuals aside, what makes this mouse stand out from the rest is a fully featured software application and the new Avago ADNS-3090 sensor. The sensor we will cover shortly, for now, we are going to take a look at the Recon Software and see what it has to offer.
