We are still 8 days away from the official launch party of Windows 8 and Windows RT, but that does not mean you can’t get your fill of Microsoft powered tablets today. A quick search on Newegg reveals 10 tablets listed. Prices range from $599 for an ASUS Vivo Tab RT to $1199 for a Samsung Series 7 slate packed with an Intel Core i5 3317U processor.
While Acer is not shy about battery life, stating 8-9 hours depending on the model, Samsung has left out any indication of how long their tablets will last on a full charge. If we go by Acer’s numbers and compare similarly equipped devices, we can expect nearly identical battery life. As we browse through the details of each device listed, we can see resolutions range from 1280 x 800 to 1920 x 1080 for both Samsung and Acer listed models.
We expect to see the list of available devices grow in the next week leading up to launch day. Hopefully we can get our hands on some review units and post more information on just how well these new tablets operate in a daily usage scenario.
