For those of you who have been waiting, the time has come. Microsoft has announced pre-orders of its upcoming Surface tablet start today at 9am PST. There is no pricing available yet, but we will update this post as soon as the pre-order site goes live. You will be able to go to www.Surface.com at the specified time. We are only ten days away from the launch of Windows 8, so this came as a bit of a surprise this morning.

UPDATE: Pricing appears to be confirmed at $499 for the Windows RT 32GB version running on ARM processors and $599 for the 64GB version. On a bit of disappointing news, the slick keyboard shown in the video will not be included. It will run an additional $120 and the more traditional keyboard is available for $130. You can get a bundle deal with the Touch Cover keyboard ($120 sold separately) with the 64GB version of Surface running Windows RT for $699.
