All the way from IFA in Berlin, this piece of news is big.  Samsung  unveiled the ATIV S, a super slime 8.7mm, 1.5GHz dual-core beast of a phone.  Packed inside that slim case is a 4.8″ HD Super AMOLED display, an 8MP autofocus rear camera, a 1.9MP front facer and 1GB of RAM.  The digitizer is made from Corning Gorilla Glass 2 and surrounded by a brushed aluminum housing.  Available in two storage capacities, 16GB and 32GB, the ATIV S includes a MicroSD slot and a massive 2300mAh battery.

There has been no word on pricing or availability, yet, but we can assume that it will be released sometime around the launch of Windows 8 and Windows RT.  Have a look at some brief pictures below and follow the link for more detailed coverage provided by WindowsTeamBlog.
