Research In Motion Co-CEO Mike Lazaridis on Thursday revealed that the 4G versions of RIM’s PlayBook tablets will not launch this summer, as the company had previously announced. According to BGR, the news came in the form of a passing comment by RIM’s Co-CEO Mike Lazaridis when he mentioned how excited he was to be launching 4G PlayBook models this fall. This is despite RIM stating that it would launch three 4G models of its new Playbook tablet, an LTE model for Verizon Wireless, a WiMAX model for Sprint, and an HSPA+ model for AT&T this summer. Also, word is that the next Blackberry to feature it’s 7.0 OS, the Bold 9900/9930 (also announced for summer) would be delayed into September.
